John is enjoying his break and we have even managed to have a few days off together! I'm sorry, did you drop this? I believe that's your jaw on the floor.
Hmmm...sarcarism does not a blog translate...
Anyway. We have been busy this past month gathering documents for our upcoming homestudy and filling out the pages upon pages of contracts and forms for the agency.
On the weekend of the 15th & 16th we ended up trekking up to strongsville for two classes on post placement and parenting. There were two other couples there for the first day, both pursuing infant adoption, one from Uganda and the other from China SN. It was nice to connect for a moment with other people going through the process.
John and I took so many notes my carple tunnel started to act up! Pages and pages on useful info on attachment. Attachment has of late become my main area of adoption study. I'll save some of that info for another day.
With the holidays there has been a delay in getting assigned a social worker, but luckily we have all the information telling us what we will need to get done so we've already started chipping away at this monster. FBI background checks will be sent in next week along with the BMV checks. And we already gathered most of the documents. We're in good shape!
I'm going to wrap this up now as my alarm goes off in about 5 hours. I'm still waiting for the cookbooks to be delivered and will be purchasing lollipops next week too. Our next big definite fundraiser is going to be the spring yard sale. My grandfather gave us a bunch of tools and another friend gave us a lot of bigger ticket items, so I'm holding my breath we beat last years sales! We are still going to take any donations you may have, so if you have a random box in your garage to get rid of we'll take it off your hands!
Everyone have a safe and happy New Year!!
The adventure continues in 2013....*theme song from Indiana Jones playing in my head*. I wonder if I can travel to Colombia via map like he does...
