I hope everyone had a good holiday! It was a blur of excitement here in the Deller household with Ella by our side. All in all I would say the holiday season was a success with all the travels we set out on. While we were both grateful for all the visiting of family and friends, I can honestly say that John and I have been enjoying our quiet few weeks since the new year. We are the both of us working away and Ella is my work buddy most days (though her increase of vocal "skills" is making my phone time a bit more difficult!).
When we starting updating everything for the adoption last fall my goal is to have a blog post a month...well I may not quite be there yet, but at least I'm getting better! Here's a quick snapshot on where we stand in the new year.
We finally got all our updated medical records and employment records notarized, apostilled, and to the adoption agency. They sent them straight on to our in country attorney R-- . Him and his people are working on the translation and after that our documents will make their way to the powers that be. Then we will wait on what they decide to find out timeframe we are looking at to get on the official waitlist with the ICBF. ICBF stands for Instituto Colombiano de Beinestar Familiar, which translates to Colombian Family Welfare Institute. We also finished updating our USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) biometrics for the government (fancy way of saying the government needed our fingerprints again).
As we wait we are starting to ramp up for our annual yard sale! We are hoping against hope this is our last spring sale before getting matched with the kids so we aim to make it bigger and badder than ever. Along with the traditional yard sale we are planning on selling hot dogs, water, baked goods - we are thinking of a raffle too. Start praying now for no rain!! On that note - if you have any spare boxes of junk you want to get rid of give us a call - your junk is our treasure! We'll take big things off your hands too, just let us know. Most importantly - please continue keeping us in your prayers!
