Theresa work schedule is as demanding as ever. She has accomplished so much in her work and I am a very proud husband. She is very dedicated and will make our two future little ones a wonderful role model. As for me, I accepted a respiratory position at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in late July and started in August. I really do love my new job and am excited to work with one of the world’s best hospitals (not that I have not worked here for the past 10 years, so the transition was fairly painless). I also wanted to take a moment and welcome our two new sisters to the family. My brother David got married in the beginning of July to Annaliesse and Theresa’s brother Anthony got married in November to Alicia. We are truly blessed to have both of them to are ever growing family.
And now to get you all got up on the adoption. I would love to say that this has been easy, but that would be a lie. We hit a few snags with the paperwork that needed to be completed. Mainly stuff that went to the Department of State and for some reasons my fingerprints for the FBI did not work the first time, so they had to resubmitted to them. But it does look like we are right back on track and should (fingers crossed) be filing before the New Year, hopefully well before it. We have redesigned another two rooms in the house in preparations for the arrival of our little ones and will be starting the next room within the week. It has been a year tomorrow in the official process and it at times seems longer, but we have come a very long way.
In the fundraising department, we have slowed down. We needed to invest a lot of money into the paperwork process so, much to my co-workers unhappiness, no lollipops have been ordered. We are very, very close to the number we need to file and should hit by the filing date. I want to take this opportunity to thank some wonderful people who have helped with fundraising. A new co-worker of mine named Jackie made a large purchase of our cookbooks in October right after her wedding. Thank you so very much for that. Also, through my Uncle Bob and Aunt Peggy, the North River Avenue Christian Church made two donations to our cause. We are truly humbled that people that we have never met were willing to help us in our time of need. Thank you to everyone, even those who bought a single lollipop or made a donation to one of the garage sales. You generosity and love is beyond anything that I can measure. I hope to one day repay you all, till then you have my prayers.
I leave you with this reading from the bible. It helped me these last few weeks. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
With love and blessings,
-John
Luke 19:9-10. And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.”
