We have been wading through all the home study requirements and as of February 28th, we sent in all the paperwork. We met our social worker for the second (and last!) time on March 13th. She’s finishing up all the paperwork on her end and we should be officially finished with the home study any day now.
Since we finished all the paperwork for the home study, we asked that the agency send us the list to start on the next task: the dossier. The dossier is basically the package of papers that will be sent to Colombia for review by their officials. Initially the list seemed daunting, but after a conversation with our consultant from the agency it seems a lot more doable than we thought.
To keep track of all the forms and tasks we have, we now have a wipe board mounted in our kitchen with everything. Don’t believe me? Check out this picture!
While doing all of this we are also starting to plan for the very busy month of May. The first weekend of May we will be having a yard sale in conjuncture with the Toronto community sale. If you have any junk – be it with just one or two things – we’ll take it off your hands! It’s going to be a great weekend and if you have the time stop by to see us and to see all the other good sales in the neighborhood. It’s a good way to support the community!
There’s also another important occasion coming up in the Deller house. After four long, hard working years, John is graduating!!!! I couldn’t be more proud of him! I am so blessed to have such a dedicated and loving husband (BTW, we just celebrated 4 years of marital love and challenges, John, I love you!!). The graduation is on the 18th of May and his party is going to be on the 25th. Busy busy month!
